Massachusetts Courts

Law clerks are law school graduates who assist one or more justices with research and writing responsibilities. The Supreme Judicial Court and the Appeals Court hire law clerks for a specified period of time and each court has its own application process.

Supreme Judicial Court
The Supreme Judicial Court will begin accepting applications for law clerk positions on June 1, 2015, for the court term that begins on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, and ends on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. The hiring season will end on September 25, 2015. To view application requirements and to find out more information about what the position entails, click here.

Appeals Court
Beginning August 14, 2015 the court will accept applications for the 2016-2017 court year. Learn more.

Trial Court
Law Clerk positions in the various Trial Court departments are posted at different times throughout the year. Please be sure to check the Trial Court Employment page for open positions.
