Court Reporting Faculty

Susan L. Chiaravalloti, CSR 6158, has been a court reporter for 23 years. She has been teaching court reporting for 25 years specializing in high-speed classes. Susan has an Associates Degree in Medical Transcription from South Coast College of Court Reporting. Susan also holds a Bachelors Degree from Humphreys College.

Jocelyn Epperson, CRI, CSR 9295, holds an Associates Degree in Court Reporting from Cerritos College. She has 10 years of experience as a court reporter. She has been teaching Court Reporting for the last four years.

Mary Gallagher holds a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from Claremont Graduate University, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Pepperdine University with an emphasis in International Business, and a Bachelor of Science from Cal Poly Pomona in Business Administration. Mary has taught Court Reporting for 25 years and at all levels from Theory to high speed and CSR Preparation in both public and private colleges in face-to-face and online class environments.

Cindy Grafton holds a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from California State University Northridge, Bachelors Degree in Vocational Education from California State University Long Beach, and an Associates Degree from El Camino College.

Randy Leaf has been teaching at Downey Adult School since January 2009. Randy previously taught criminal justice courses at the University of Phoenix. Randy holds a Bachelors Degree in Management and a Masters Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.

Maggie Ortiz, CSR 11900, has been a court reporter for 10 years. She has an AAS degree in Court Reporting and Realtime Reporting from South Coast College. Maggie has taught Theory for six years.

Susan Schaeffer, CSR 11727, has been a court reporter for 16 years. She has a B.S. degree in Business Marketing from Cal Poly Pomona. She has taught court reporting at Cypress and Cerritos College.

Sandi Starbuck has been working with and training court reporters for over 20 years. Sandi has taught at court reporting schools for over 11 years. She is a certified Stenograph trainer and owns her own business helping court reporters.
